- Danica Patrick going to NASCAR?

- Danica Patrick sounds as if she has already made a decision on her racing future, even if she's not quite ready to announce it. Patrick's father, T.J., caused a stir two weeks ago when he showed up at the Nextel Cup race at Chicagoland Speedway and told a Chicago Tribune reporter that Patrick was interested in switching to NASCAR. Patrick said if she did sign a new deal, any announcement would be up to the team she signed with. What do you make of this and where might she end up at? What would this do for NASCAR?

I don't think she's comin to NASCAR just yet. She might just wait to see how montoya does then make her decision

I saw her asked that question during an interview last year. I believe she will... she said she'd like to, but still has things she wants to accomplish in the IRL. As far as what it'd do for Nascar, it sure couldn't hurt it any more that the France royalty is hurting it now. Besides, I'll bet she'd do a better job of it than J.P. Montoya has been doing since he got out of open-wheeled cars.

What's the difference??? For auto racing to take Danica seriously she must first win a race. This situation reminds me of the Michelle Wie and her dad. It's time for the parent/coaches to sit back and let their children speak for themselves. After all, did the parent figures forget who is competing?? Or is it that they are too busy riding their children's coat tails!!

She's an "unproven" possibility, but so is next week's weather prediction. Currently she seems to be sending out "feelers" but hasn't really indicated a commitment one way or the other.

She will flop if she joins NASCAR. The only reason she does good in open wheel is because they dont have the weight restrictions that NASCAR has. She is 50 pounds less that the average driver in open wheel and that makes her car much faster. In NASCAR, they make the teams put lead plates on the floor to make all cars the same weight with the driver in them. She will never be able to keep up and I dont think she has the skills to drive a car that is twice the weight of what she drives now and doing it on tires half as big.

She wants to win the championship and Indy first before she comes to NASCAR.

dude the cup has not even raced at chicago this year so you have no clue as to what the heck you are talking about ,they dont even race at chicagoland until july so i have no idea where you got your info ,but i dont think danica will make a switch and if she does it wont be in the near future

I would love to see her in Nascar. First though, I think that anyone who does jump into nascar should prove themselves in a bush car for a couple of seasons. Give Montoya some time, I'm sure he'll do fine in the future. Some guy's have been racing for yrs and still only win once or twice a yr if that. Besides, Danica would be great for the women fans and I would cheer her on myself too. Could you imagine, Danica helping Junior at Talladega? lol

She Will NEVER come to Nascar. She is a smart lady. And she likes racing REAL racing. She has said in interviews that she Never has seriously considered Napcar. "She says her hear is in Indy Cars and it will stay in Indy Cars" Danica is Way too classy to be in the redneck racing series. And fathers should stay out of their daughters sports lifes/careers !! go IRL ! Go Danica !

Teresa Earnhardt could always hire Danica to replace Jr. I hate Montoya in NASCAR but he makes more money in NASCAR than he could have made in Formula One (and not battle Mr. Schumacher week in and week out).

In my personal opinion i don't think she is a very good driver. It would give Nascar a short lived boost in ratings if she raced but i think without a win in IRL she has no right to compete in the nextel and should have to start in busch. Indy car racing has almost never been popular and is just slowly dying off, it would be wise for her to get onto the big stage and quit playing in the kiddy pool(IRL).
